みなさん、こんにちは！かなみです。 きょうは、わたしが生（う）まれたまちについて おはなししましょう。 横須賀（よこすか）というまちです。 わたしは、こうこうまで 横須賀（よこすか）にすんでいました。 横須賀（よこすか）は、とてもすてきなまちです。 横須賀（よこすか）は、かながわにあります。 東京（とうきょう）から、電車（でんしゃ）で 一時間（いちじかん）ぐらいです。
よこはまも、ちかいです。 電車（でんしゃ）で行（い）くことができます。 でも、東京（とうきょう）やよこはまより、 人（ひと）がすくないです。 しずかで、いいまちです。 横須賀（よこすか）には、うみがあります。 とてもきれいなうみです。 山（やま）もあります。みどりがたくさんあります。 こうえんもたくさんあります。

Hey everyone! I'm Kanami. Today let's talk about the city where I was born. It's called Yokosuka. I lived in Yokosuka all the way through high school. Yokosuka is a really wonderful city. It's in Kanagawa Prefecture. From Tokyo, it's about an hour by train.
Yokohama is close too -- you can get there by train. But there are far fewer people than in Tokyo or Yokohama. It's quieter -- and honestly, that's one of the things I love most about it. Yokosuka has the sea. It's a really beautiful coastline. There are mountains too -- so much greenery everywhere. And lots of parks.
I love going on walks with the sea and mountains all around me. There's so much nature -- it just makes you feel good. Much quieter than Tokyo. Yokosuka is home to a US Navy base. Because of that, a lot of foreigners live there. You see people from all over the world around town. People in Yokosuka are used to talking with foreigners. A lot of people speak English too -- especially those working in shops and hospitality.
It's a really diverse, international kind of city. In Yokosuka, having a car is really useful. The city has a lot of hills. Some areas are pretty tough to get around on foot. If you have a car, you can easily get anywhere. The trains connect you to Tokyo and Yokohama too.
The cost of living in Yokosuka is lower than in Tokyo or Yokohama. Especially rent -- it's so much more affordable. Way cheaper than Tokyo. So some people actually work in Tokyo but live in Yokosuka. When I was a kid, I used to go to the sea all the time. I've swum there -- really good memories.
I spent so much time at the parks and the beach with my friends. My memories of Yokosuka are really precious to me. Alright -- practice time! Try answering this in Japanese. The question is: Is your town quiet or lively? And: What's your favourite place in your town? Let me know in the comments!
